The Great Spirit is in all things,
he is in the air we breathe.
The Great Spirit is our Father,
but the Earth is our Mother.
She nourishes us,
that which we put into the ground
she returns to us....

Why we dance?

Why we dance?

To dance is to pray,
to pray is to heal,
to heal is to give,
to give is to live,
to live is to dance.

To the Drum:

The drum - its round form.
Representing the shape of the sacred universe
- emits strong,
steady heartbeats
that bring entrancement through repetition.

To all Dancers:

To all these dancers,
I say "Dance on and on and on
...we need your rhythmic,
heartfelt prayers."

AHO
